1.Lecture

During these weeks, each group presented the progress of their project in class. This gave us the opportunity to learn from different design ideas and testing methods. By watching our classmates' presentations, joining the class discussions, and listening to Ms. Mia's feedback, we gained many useful suggestions and new perspectives. We also learned how different groups solved design problems and improved their projects based on user feedback. These presentations helped us think about our own website from different angles and gave us clear ideas for further improvements.

User Testing Preparation

Before conducting the interviews and questionnaire survey, we reviewed our website prototype and discussed what information we wanted to collect from users. We identified two main target groups: artists and clients. We then prepared interview questions and designed a questionnaire based on their different needs.

To make the feedback more useful, we focused on several aspects, including the website's visual design, layout, usability, and the overall commissioning process.

After preparing the questions, we invited participants with different backgrounds to test our website prototype. During the interviews, we introduced the website, observed their reactions while browsing the pages, and asked them to share their opinions freely. We also took notes during the discussion so that no important feedback would be missed.

Questionnaire Distribution

To collect more opinions, we created an online questionnaire using Google Forms. The questionnaire included different questions for artists, commissioners, and users who had experience as both. Participants were asked to review the website screenshots before answering the questions.

We shared the questionnaire with classmates, friends, and people who had experience with art commissions. In total, we collected 15 valid responses, which provided both quantitative ratings and qualitative suggestions for future improvements.

After collecting all responses, we organised the data into charts and tables. We compared the interview results with the questionnaire findings to identify common opinions and improvement priorities before making our final analysis.

5.Feedback

Week 11 :Ms. Mia explained the requirements for Task 3 and guided us on how to prepare for the user testing process. She advised us to clearly identify our target users before conducting the interviews and questionnaire survey. Since our platform was designed for both artists and clients, she suggested preparing different questions based on their roles, needs, and experiences.

She also reminded us to focus on important areas such as visual design, page layout, usability, navigation, website functions, and the overall commission process. Based on her explanation, we began planning the interview questions and questionnaire structure to collect useful and relevant feedback from different types of users.

Week 12 :After making the improvements suggested by Ms. Mia in Week 11, we presented the revised website to her again. We added several new functions, such as allowing users to upload or change their profile pictures. We also improved the project submission process so that a project could only be created after the client and artist had communicated and confirmed the commission details. Ms. Mia considered these changes effective and believed that they made the website’s functions and user flow clearer.

Week 13 :After we completed the user testing, Ms. Mia advised us to organise the results clearly using charts and tables. She commented that the data presented in our final presentation was too detailed and that we did not need to explain every result individually. Instead, we should select and summarise the most important findings so that the presentation would be clearer and more focused. She also mentioned that the interview participant provided very detailed and useful suggestions, and encouraged us to continue this good work. For our next presentation, we should simplify the content and focus more on the key findings and improvement priorities.

6.Reflection

Experience :During Task 3, I gained practical experience in conducting user testing and analysing feedback for a website prototype. Our group first reviewed the website and identified the main information we wanted to collect from users. Since the platform was designed for both artists and clients, we prepared different interview and questionnaire questions according to their roles and needs.

I also participated in inviting users to test the website, observing how they interacted with different pages, and recording their comments during the interviews. Through this process, I learned that user testing is not only about asking whether users like a design. It is also necessary to observe whether they understand the navigation, whether the functions are clear, and whether they can complete the commission process smoothly.

After collecting the interview and questionnaire responses, we organised the results into charts and tables and compared the different types of feedback. This gave me more experience in turning raw user comments and ratings into useful design findings. I also learned how to present research results in a more structured way and use them to identify areas that required improvement.

Observations :During the user testing process, I observed that users often noticed problems that the design team had overlooked. Because we were already familiar with the website structure and functions, some steps seemed clear to us, but new users did not always understand them immediately. This showed me that designers should not rely only on their own understanding when evaluating usability.

I also observed that different users focused on different aspects of the website. Artists were more concerned about profile presentation, project information, communication, and the way commissions were confirmed. Clients paid more attention to browsing artists, understanding the ordering process, payment, and progress tracking. This confirmed the importance of preparing different questions for different target users.

Another observation was that detailed feedback can be very useful, but too much information can make the final presentation difficult to follow. As Ms. Mia mentioned, presenting every result separately made the content feel too long and unfocused. The most important information should be grouped into clear themes, such as visual design, usability, functions, and commission flow.

Findings :Through this task, I found that user testing is an important part of the design process because it helps reveal the difference between the designer’s intention and the user’s actual experience. A function may appear complete from a design perspective, but it is only effective when users can understand and use it without confusion.

I also found that combining interviews and questionnaires produced more useful results than using only one method. The questionnaire provided measurable ratings and helped us identify common opinions, while the interviews gave more detailed explanations and suggestions. Comparing both sets of results allowed us to recognise repeated issues and decide which improvements should be prioritised.

Finally, I learned that analysing user feedback requires selection and interpretation rather than simply listing every response. The findings should be summarised according to their importance and relevance to the project. This task helped me understand that a successful website should not only look professional but also provide clear navigation, logical functions, and a smooth user experience for different target groups.
